Landlord gas safety: the core duty
For domestic rented property within the scope of the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations, landlords must arrange maintenance of relevant gas pipework, appliances and flues they provide and arrange an annual gas safety check by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
Existing tenants must receive the latest gas safety record within 28 days of the check, and new tenants must receive a current record before they move in.
Registered engineers
Gas safety checks and gas work must be carried out by engineers registered with Gas Safe Register and competent for the specific type of gas work involved. Primelinks Compliance coordinates the commercial process; it does not present Primelinks Solutions Ltd itself as the gas registration body.
